Under the title “Hito Steyerl,” Halle für aktuelle Kunst presents works by the media artist and author. About fifteen spatial installations show how she brings art, technology, and the study of social conditions together. The content addresses artificial intelligence, global entanglements, and the aftermath of colonialism, as well as control through algorithms, exploitation by technical systems, capitalism, climate crisis, and war. Across video essays, installations, and lecture performances, Steyerl combines recordings of reality with invented scenes; the show is spread across a bright and a darkened area.
