In his second solo exhibition at Galerie Thomas Schulte, José Montealegre explores the link between materiality, craftsmanship and physicality. His works question established knowledge systems and historical narratives by making their vacancies and traces visible. The exhibition includes sculptures and paper works that open up alternative narratives through a variety of materials. Montealegre’s work invites us to critically reflect on familiar images of history and discover new perspectives.
