With Nerly in Venice, the Kunsthalle Bremen presents an exhibition on the painting of Friedrich Nerly and his view of the lagoon city. The focus is on motifs of light, architecture and water, which make Venice appear as a multi-layered place between observation and artistic interpretation. The tour in Bremen, Am Wall 207, can be seen from 14 March to 5 July 2026. The presentation combines the city as a visual motif with the question of how its effect in painting can be reshaped again and again.
