In the Museum Folkwang in Essen, an exhibition on Herbert W. Franke and Gottfried Jäger will be shown from 16 October 2026 to 10 January 2027. It brings together two positions of media art that dealt with the conditions of technical image production at an early stage. The focus is on processes in which apparatuses, programs and photographic processes have a say in the image. The show thus opens up a view of artistic experiments in which design and systematics, chance and control meet in a precise way.
