From 3 September to 22 November 2026, Jörg Engelhardt presents the exhibition "Wild & Würdig" at Museum Bad Pyrmont, showing sculptural works in which monkeys function as royal and mythological symbols. From the sacred baboon of ancient Egypt to the monkey god Hanuman, themes of dignity, wisdom and myth are explored. Engelhardt's monkeys wear crowns and scepters, ascend thrones and—between fantasy, irony and sublimity—address power, humanity and the boundless freedom of art.
