Björn Drenkwitz’s exhibition Present Perfect considers the present as a moment in which past and future are inseparably intertwined. It asks how historical experience, political narratives and collective gestures shape action and ideas of community, future and power. Amid the growing influence of authoritarian and right-wing ideologies, it intervenes through artistic research and encourages a rethinking: political developments emerge from processes of negotiation, and the future is shaped by decisions made now.
