“Journey into Föhr’s Prehistoric Past – Giant Sharks, Whales, Squid” focuses on fossils, a large proportion of which were discovered directly on Föhr. The original finds are complemented by illustrations by geologist Johannes Jannsen, who visually reconstructs past habitats; this approach is known as paleoart and combines insights from palaeontology with artistic interpretation. The special exhibition also presents exhibits from Föhr’s prehistoric past and points to geological strata of the ancient North Sea beneath the island. It will be on view from 25 April 2026 to 31 October 2026 at the Dr.-Carl-Häberlin-Friesen-Museum, Rebbelstieg 34, 25938 Wyk auf Föhr.
