The exhibition documents the Syrian prison complex of Sednaya, which, under Hafiz and Bashar al-Assad, served for decades as a site of imprisonment and execution for political prisoners. Virtually reconstructed cells and execution sites, together with survivors’ testimonies, personal belongings and recovered artefacts, convey the mechanisms of state violence and everyday life under extreme conditions of detention.
