To mark the tenth anniversary of MalerinnenNetzWerk Berlin-Leipzig, the exhibition brings together a diverse range of contemporary approaches to painting, including landscapes as well as figurative and abstract works. Its pointed title examines historical and contemporary attributions of female independence without prescribing a single motif for the works on display. In Ottobeuren, this exploration also enters into a tension-filled dialogue with the historical visual power of the neighbouring Baroque basilica.
