The Stadtgeschichtliche Museum pays tribute to photographer Fred Stein as a pioneer of the small-format camera and as a humanist, politically engaged chronicler of exile. The exhibition section still on view at the Capa-Haus presents photographs of refugee children from the context of the Spanish Civil War, as well as portraits of Gerda Taro in Paris, and sheds light on Stein’s connection to Leipzig.
