The special exhibition explores seven animal figures from the prose works that Theodor Storm wrote during his years in Heiligenstadt: the coffin fish, mosquito, small tortoiseshell butterfly, cockchafer, canary, wolf and dachshund. Wooden figures, designed glass panels, historical prints from “Brehm’s Animal Life” and children’s watercolours illustrate Storm’s conception of the equality of life between humans and animals. A children’s leaflet, an accompanying booklet for adults and a free audio guide accessed via QR codes complement the exhibition.
