The permanent exhibition examines the backgrounds, training and careers of the female guards, as well as the violent conditions in the concentration camp that they helped to sustain. It also addresses postwar trials, the victims’ search for justice, the perpetrators’ silence and representations of the female SS guard in popular culture.
