Photographs from the years 1983 to 1995 illuminate the profound transformation of eastern Germany during the late GDR and the early post-Wende period. In five chapters on youth, work, living environments, the body and violence, the exhibition focuses in particular on Brandenburg’s lived realities and connects them with contemporary questions of freedom, identity and social change.
