In the Museum am Dom Trier, the exhibition is dedicated to the motif of the Last Supper as one of the defining pictorial themes of Western cultural history. It traces its interpretation from religious and liturgical references to art-historical expressions across different epochs and contexts. In addition to the sacred dimension, the later appropriation in everyday culture and pop aesthetics emerges. Between devotion, interpretation and trivialization, the show opens up a glimpse of the adaptability of an image that to this day tells of community, betrayal and hope.
