“Projections | Promises | Echo” is connected with the festival “A Building Takes the Stage” and takes two public events in Bauhaus history as its point of departure: the opening of the Bauhaus building on 4 December 1926 and its reopening as a Scientific-Cultural Centre in 1976. Installations, actions, forums, and performances explore the differing geopolitical contexts and historical publics of these events. The Bauhaus building and the institution’s history become a resonating space for diverse and contested memories, as well as current debates about cultural institutions, diversity, democratic participation, and cultural co-production.
