David Schiesser’s solo exhibition “Society of Schnappatmung” brings together works in charcoal, oil, silkscreen, and ink. His visual worlds draw on evolutionary, economic, agricultural, and medieval references, bringing them together in an open, organically proliferating cosmos. Contemporary financial, bodily, organic, and fantastical anxieties are set against everyday banality. In the gallery, financial information lining the walls like a news ticker complements the works and intensifies the themes of sensory overload, restlessness, and abundance.
