In the Liebieghaus Skulpturensammlung in Frankfurt am Main, this special exhibition is dedicated to August Gaul (1869–1921), an early pioneer of modern sculpture in Germany. On display are around a hundred animal sculptures made of bronze, ceramics and marble, which draw attention to Gaul's precise observation and formal clarity. The works enter into a broad art-historical context and encounter sculptures from three millennia. This creates a concentrated dialogue between nature observation and sculpture. The exhibition runs from 13 November 2025 to 11 October 2026 at Schaumainkai 71 in Frankfurt am Main.
