In the Kunstmuseum Karlsruhe, the collection is reorganized and questioned from today’s perspective. Under the title “Update! Neueschauten die Sammlung”, works from painting, sculpture, graphics, photography and video art meet in thematically structured spaces. The tour combines works from around 120 years and focuses on questions of identity, role models and social change. The new presentation at Lorenzstraße 27 also opens up a view of the museum’s work itself. With the exhibition depot and archive, the history of collections and institutions will be considered. From 5 May 2026, the exhibition will focus on the present and on the question of how a municipal art collection can be read today and in the future.
