In the Duke Anton Ulrich Museum in Braunschweig, from 6 March 2026, the exhibition will bring together outstanding works from the medieval collection from Dankwarderode Castle. Under the title “Rendezvous with the Lion”, central pieces will be rearranged and placed in a cultural-historical context. Among other things, the show features testimonies such as the Rune Box, the Arm Reliquary of St. Blasius, the Emperor's Mantle of Otto IV and the Burglöwe of Brunswick. In eight subject areas, the show opens up insights into courtly representation, religious interpretations and Braunschweig's ascent to the commercial city until 31 December 2026.
