In the Maximilianmuseum Augsburg, the exhibition “Old connections. edifices from the model chamber” is dedicated to a special collection history of the city. From 20 March to 20 August 2026, design and commemorative models that have been preserved since the Renaissance for construction projects, crafts and technical experiments are shown. Starting with the model chamber set up in 1620 in the town hall, the show traces how Augsburg brought together models for architecture, mechanics and water art. In doing so, it opens up a glimpse of an early urban knowledge in which craftsmanship precision, planning and memory were closely linked.
