The C/O Berlin Foundation will host an exhibition on Walter Schels from June to the beginning of September 2026. Under the title 16° Fishes, the exhibition focuses on the photographic work of the artist in Berlin and opens up a glimpse of an oeuvre that has grown over decades. Around 250 works from different groups of works are on display, including portraits, series on transitions in life and animal and plant images. Complemented by early works and biographical materials, a concentrated overview of topics such as identity, change and the connection between documentary and artistic photography is created.
