The special exhibition at the Riesa City Museum tells the story of household day in the GDR: visitors follow a fictional 1970s apartment and encounter household appliances, photographs, eyewitness interviews and television footage from Riesa. The exhibition makes visible how much planning, time and work lay behind the everyday tasks of washing, cooking, tidying up and organising family life.
