In the Sumelocenna Museum in Rottenburg am Neckar, the exhibition “Superstars with Death Courage – The Roman Gladiators” is dedicated to one of the most popular figures of antiquity. The focus is on the origin, everyday life and equipment of the fighters as well as the staging of their performances in the Roman Empire. The show asks about the rules of gladiature, about opportunities and risks in combat and about the role of the audience. Even for younger visitors there are vivid accesses to try and discover. The exhibition can be seen from 17 May to 21 September 2026 at the Stadtgraben.
