The Städtische Kunstsammlung and Stiftung Pappermann within the Städtische Sammlungen Freital documents regional art development roughly between 1890 and 1950 and presents significant examples of Dresden and Saxony art. Highlights include nine paintings by Otto Dix; additionally the private collection of Friedrich Pappermann with about 200 paintings and approximately 1200 works on paper has been part of the Freital holdings since 1993. The presentation brings together works by Curt Querner and many other representatives of Symbolism, Jugendstil and classical modernism, thus conveying regional art-historical continuities.
