The new permanent exhibition at the Stadt‑ und Bergbaumuseum Freiberg (opened 27 March 2026) presents Freiberg’s mining culture and history in an inclusive, multimedia concept. The underground level allows visitors to explore mining working worlds; the first floor presents mining and art, Freiberg in the 17th and 18th centuries, and the history of the Knappschaft. The museum emphasises haptics, sound and interaction and features the “silver band” inclusive trail, offering multisensory experiences.
