Artist and biologist Sebastian Marokko Walter combines scientific and artistic research in areas such as neurobiology, perception psychology, archaeology and ecology. In the installation ZoeNosen he investigates zoenoses – non-human communities of organisms – within human-shaped urban environments. Since 2018 he has documented wild-growing plants and their associated insects using painting, drawing, photography, film, sound recordings, sculptural techniques, light, text and collages. The exhibition places these fragile communities at the centre of a life story from beginning to a possible provisional end.
