The exhibition explores images as messages in the art of the GDR and shows how classical myths and literary subjects served to articulate social criticism. It juxtaposes the independent positions of Ursula Mattheuer-Neustädt and Wolfgang Mattheuer and, through their works, asks questions about the individual, freedom and love.
