In the Alte Pinakothek, the presentation of the collection addresses the question of how images tell stories. Works from Old German, Old Dutch and Flemish painting of the 16th and early 17th centuries appear in new contexts and open up different approaches to topics, figures and pictorial strategies. There are also ambiguities in view: it is not always immediately recognizable what is depicted or how a picture can be read. The presentation invites you to take a closer look and rediscover the narrative methods from Albrecht Altdorfer to Peter Paul Rubens. It can be seen from 4 June 2025 to 5 July 2026 in Munich, Barer Straße 27.
