The special exhibition explores wall decorations as bearers of personal memories, domestic culture and social developments. Through around 20 objects, it shows how pictures, keepsakes and decorative everyday items shape private interiors and individual life stories. On view are objects from different periods, ranging from hair pictures made around 1900 and religious wall hangings to kitchen aids and pattern rollers from a Waldenbuch painting business of the mid-20th century. During the exhibition period, a public collections review also makes the museum’s collection work visible.
