At Gropius Bau in Berlin, the exhibition Gabriele Stötzer: Being and not being silent shows a concentrated look at the multifaceted work of the artist, who was born in Thuringia in 1953. Around 150 works from different media show how closely her work is connected with political experience, self-assertion and resistance. Photography, performance, film, ceramics as well as textile and object art come together. Stötzer’s work combines personal biography and social present and opens up spaces in which body, freedom and rebellion are discussed as artistic topics. The exhibition can be seen from 19 June to 6 December 2026.
