At MEWO Kunsthalle Memmingen, Frauke Wilken shows an exhibition entitled Conversion, which works with the perception of body and surface. Her sculptures, mostly developed from fabric, colour and other materials, often appear heavier than they are and can be read as bodies, limbs or animal forms. The works result from an interplay of covering and visibility, material and image. For more than three decades, Wilken has been examining questions of physicality and representation; works from different phases of work can be seen in Memmingen from 28 February to 21 June 2026.
