“Turbulenzen” presents recent works by Jan Homeyer and also includes several works by Bettina Dellwig, the artist who died in 2016. Jan Homeyer, a graduate of the Kunstakademie Münster, shows works from the cycle “The Secret Life Of Walter Mitty Vincent van Gogh – A Picture Story,” created over the last three years. Inspired by James Thurber’s short story “The Secret Life of Walter Mitty,” the images describe an imagined life in which Vincent van Gogh appears in different roles, with partial links to van Gogh’s letters to his brother Theo. Works from the current project “Crisis? What Crisis?” are also on view, where an apparent idyll is ironically disrupted by subtle or overt elements of threat. The exhibition runs from 5 September to 20 September 2026 in the Orangerie.
