With “Space in Action / Action in Space,” the Lenbachhaus is once again installing Jeppe Hein’s interactive water pavilion in front of the museum. At first, a wall of shooting water blocks the way to the Propyläen, but as visitors draw close it suddenly collapses, opening access to the fountain. Water curtains then create a space screened off from the square and the street. The 2002 work invites visitors to come closer, play along and experience the forecourt as a meeting place and a space for enjoyment.
