Sabine Bungert and Stefan Dolfen devote their long-term photographic study to Black cowboys and cowgirls in the United States, whose historic role in shaping the image of the West was long suppressed. Travelling through numerous states, they portrayed rodeo riders, farmers, riding clubs, cultural practitioners and other members of this community; video interviews complement the photographs with personal stories.
