“Fabulous! The Lion Man and his descendants” traces the fascination for mixed creatures of humans and animals from the Paleolithic to the present. The starting point is the Lion Man, from there the view opens up to Sphinx, Minotaurs, Nixen, Cyborgs and other figures between myth, art and pop culture. The presentation of the Museum Ulm as a guest at Kunsthalle Weishaupt asks where the human begins and where nature, imagination and technology merge. It connects cultural history, visual worlds and today's ideas of the extended self.
