The exhibition tells the story of the label XULY.Bët, founded in 1991, and of its founder Lamine Badian Kouyaté. Shaped by migration, diversity and a radical idea of sustainability, Kouyaté understands clothing as memory, resource and a means of expressing identity and social belonging. His artistic upcycling practice moves between streetwear and high fashion; through guerrilla fashion shows, he revolutionised the Paris fashion scene of the 1990s.
