“Benin. Geraubte Geschichte” starts from the colonial occupation of the Kingdom of Benin by British troops in February 1897. The text names the worldwide dispersal of thousands of artworks as one consequence. In view of their restitution, MARKK’s Benin collection is shown in its entirety. The exhibition runs at Museum am Rothenbaum, Rothenbaumchaussee 64 in Hamburg, until 27 June 2027.
