Halle – Leipzig International presents recent works by students, graduates and master-class students from two specialist classes: Kerstin Drechsel’s class for painting and graphic art at the Academy of Fine Arts Leipzig, and the painting class of Tilo Baumgärtel and Heide Nord at Burg Giebichenstein University of Art and Design Halle. Alongside classical painting, the participating artists explore the medium’s boundaries through artistic graphic work, video, comics, object art and installation. The selection offers a view of young approaches to painting and of the contemporary teaching of the medium at both art academies.
